  1. Lecture for Tonight’s Meeting: Tonight’s lecture was on Hyponatremia for Allied Health Professionals. Speaker is Kelly Reed, PhD Medical Science Liaison –Cardio-Renal.
  2. Hot News: ChesMont has a new website!! Thank you Sue Mattei. She showed us how to navigate through the website. She showed us the directory and how to access and refer to peers. There are plenty of resources that can be viewed on the website. Please be sure to check it out.
  3. ChesMont poinsettas: ChesMont provided all in attendance with a festive poinsettia.
  4. Legislative Updates and Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (PCNP) (Cheryl Schlamb):
  1. Cheryl Schlamb updated PCNP’s strategic planning. Lisa Adams spoke about the Pennsylvania House Professional Licensure Committee feedback.
  2. Full Practice Authority Campaign Update–#CareforPA: Lisa Adams discussed #CareforPA campaign. She discussed the feedback from the hearing. PCNP is requesting APRN’s write to their Senators and Representatives. We are still in good position to pass in the Senate with no problems. The focus is now on the House. Keep Writing Letters and discuss with your House Reps!!!!

  1. November 5th to Nov. 7th was the PCNP’s annual Conference. It was held in Lancaster, PA. Next years it is tentatively scheduled for Harrisburg. For further details, go onto the PCNP website: .
  1. PAC Fund (Teresa Holman):
    1. We need to boost funds due to recent legislative activities. 100% of tonight’s basket raffle will go to the PAC fund. PCNP needs help with PAC Fund to pay lobbyists and others to help with the Full Practice Authority Campaign. Please donate money to the PAC Fund to help continue the funding for these very important lobbying activities. Checks payable to PCNP PAC.
    2. Basket Raffle funds – 100% will go to PAC for the rest of the year.

  2. Medical Lectures Update and Upcoming Meetings (Mary Keirsey):

  3. CEU Chairperson: Welcome Tricia Eckman!!!! Thank you. Tricia Has provided a list of CEU opportunites. These are now accessible via the ChesMont website.
  1. Membership Updates (Cheryl Wieczorek):
    1. Please note**** ChesMont membership list is retrieved from the PCNP website! It is important that you keep up to date via the PCNP website. We are provided quarterly updates from PCNP******
    2. Please make sure that your memberships are up-to-date. Please check the PCNP website at for your membership status and renewal date. Please also confirm the correct email address as well. Memberships are only ONLINE for nurse practitioner members. We now have official membership cards from PCNP.
    3. Physician Assistants (PAs) are not online for PCNP and will need to fill-out membership forms each year. PAs will need to see Cheryl Wieczorek (email: ) for new registration forms to renew your membership and pay annual ChesMont dues. Cheryl Wieczorek will no longer be able to be the Physician Assistant Representative. We need a PA to volunteer for the position of Physician Assistant Representative.
  1. Attendance and Meeting Logistics (Emmie Amerine):
    1. New RSVP process was very well received! We will continue to use. ChesMont NP members will need to make sure they are current with the PCNP membership. Invitations to meetings are pulled from the current PCNP member list. First come, first serve.
    2. ChesMont PA members need to let us know who is responsible for PA group and invites.
    3. All members and guests must sign-in on both sheets:
      1. ChesMont sign-in sheet
      2. Sponsor’s sign-in sheet.
    4. RSVPs are MANDATORY!! If you RSVP your attendance to a meeting but later find that you are unable to attend, please cancel your RSVP as indicated on the Whoozin invitation and/or contact the ChesMont Secretary.
    5. Guests are welcome, and will be allowed as we have room. Guests need to be either a n APRN or PA. Guests or their host must RSVP to the meeting. When you RSVP for your guest, please provide their name and professional status (NP, PA, or student).

  1. Job Opportunities:
    1. Palliative Care positions: Cynthia Wagner provided information about NP job openings in Palliative Care at Main Line Health for FT, PT, or Per Diem positions. They need positions filled in all Main Line Health sites (Bryn Mawr, Paoli, Riddle, and Lankenau Hospitals). Cynthia is actively growing the Palliative Program and is always looking for additional help. If you have any questions about these positions, contact Cynthia Wagner at email below.     3. Volunteer Position: St. Agnes Nurse’s Center in West Chester, PA is looking for volunteers on Saturday mornings 10am to 12noon and Wednesday afternoons from 4pm to 6pm. Contact Terry Berkman at email address: or phone #484-883-6945.
    4. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Per Diem Position: Previously, Christine Sloan provided us with information about a Per Diem position at the Renfrew Center of Philadelphia, PA for an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. If interested, ask for Dr. Hahn at 215-482-5353. Responsibilities include: performing psychiatric evaluations; providing crisis intervention, ongoing psychopharmacological management; conduction peer reviews with managed care companies; and working within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Providing coverage for Psychiatric services. Requirements: Must have a current CRNP license in PA with a specialization in Psychiatry. Previous experience working with patients with eating disorders and/or addictions is preferred. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
